Want to know where the LOCALS LOVE to hang out? We asked Stephanie Sacks, Encinitas native, digital designer and entrepreneur.
Why do you love San Diego?
Let me count the ways…. The wonderful people, the casual nature, the beach/local vibe, the job opportunities and the amazing restaurants! There’s something for everyone. With all of the incredible diverse neighborhoods throughout San Diego, you can always find your place and have the opportunity to explore something new.
What’s a perfect Saturday in San Diego to you?
A perfect Saturday would start with a beach walk in Leucadia with my husband and dog followed by a delicious breakfast and coffee at Nectarine Grove.
We would spend the afternoon hitting some balls at the driving range at Encinitas Ranch or The Crossings at Carlsbad followed by an early afternoon happy hour with a beach view.
In the evening, we would head out to the 101 in Encinitas to dine at The Roxy and listen to some live music. Of course, we would finish the night with some gelato at Gelato 101 – anything chocolate is my favorite!
What are your favorite things to do when family or friends visit from out of town?
When we have friends or family visiting from out of town, I love to take them to Dog Beach in Solana Beach and either to The Brigantine for the amazing fish tacos and margaritas or over to Viewpoint for some beer and bites with a view.
Favorite date night restaurant?
Two of my favorite date night restaurants in Carlsbad are Campfire, known for their family style meals and amazing smores – because of course! Another favorite is 264 Fresco, which is an incredible Italian restaurant with a fabulous wine selection.
Favorite dog-friendly activity?
My favorite activity with my dog is taking him on beach walks – from Carlsbad State Beach to Cardiff Beach, we’ve done them all. I have a 115 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback (we refer to him a gentle giant) who loves nothing more than to walk along the coastline meeting other dogs and people.
I run two businesses: Grandview Collective (grandviewcollective.com) – where I work with small businesses and entrepreneurs on their branding and web design and I just started a new t-shirt company called Honey & Scout (honeyandscoutco.etsy.com) where I design and sell trendy graphic tshirts and sweatshirts.
