San Diego has a lot to offer as far as outdoor activities are concerned. Our laid back city has no shortage of kayak and stand-up paddleboards for rent, but what if you’re looking for something a little more daring? Read on for three adrenaline-pumping excursions fit for your adventure level.

Jet Ski Rental

Adventure Level: Moderate

Ricky Bobby said it best: “I wanna go fast!” If a leisurely cruise around the water just won’t do it for you, hop on a jet ski. Seaforth Boat Rentals often has same-day availability in Coronado, Downtown and Mission Bay. Go solo or take a passenger, with rates starting at $65 an hour.

Helicopter Tour

Adventure Level: Intermediate

If you ended up with an aisle seat during your flight, you’re missing out! Corporate Helicopters offers 30, 42 and 60 minute tours, allowing you to experience some of San Diego’s most scenic destinations from above. Tours start at $165 per person. This is a great way to cover a lot of ground, so to speak, if you’re only in town for a quick visit.

Tandem Paragliding

Adventure Level: Fearless!

Risk takers looking for maximum action will get a kick out of the Torrey Pines Gliderport. It’s the largest tandem operation in the world! Cozy up with your friendly flight instructor who will guide you on a 20-25 minute adventure above the coastline. Flights are $165 cash and are available on a first come first serve basis. Even if you’re not up for this adventure, the gliderport is a fantastic place to picnic and watch others sail around the sky!
