BRETT’S PICKS

Name

Brett Miller

Why do you love San Diego?

The beaches, the weather and the people, not necessarily in that order. I’m also an avid golfer, so I appreciate the opportunities for year round play.

What neighborhood do your live in currently?

Encinitas

What are your favorite things to do when family or friends visit from out of town?

Most of our visitors have been here quite a few times, so I like to explore place that aren’t usually on the tourist map such as the tide pools at Swami’s Beach followed by food and drinks at Death by Tequila.

What’s your favorite ‘date night’ or special occasion restaurant / place?

We recently checked out The Roxy, Encinitas. It’s definitely a cool spot with a 1920’s vibe and nightly live music. If we are going out for a special dinner, we really like Juene et Jolie.

What’s a perfect Saturday in San Diego to you?

First stop is Lofty Coffee followed by a round of golf. In North County, we like to play St. Mark Golf or Maderas. I enjoy cooking at home, but if we are going out as a family we all like Cucina Enoteca.

I’m the CEO of a local hospitality company, Eat.Drink.Sleep.  We operate boutique hotel properties and restaurants in California and Arizona, including local properties Tower23 in Pacific Beach, Lakehouse Hotel & Resort in San Marcos, and Rambler Motel in Chula Vista. It’s an exciting time for us as we’ve recently branched out and started a design firm called Second Sight. You can follow along @eatdrinksleepsd and @secondsightdesign. I’m always happy to talk hospitality at bmiller@eatdrinkandsleep.net.
